YOUR MOVE

Pastor Craig Smee

Revival, Consequences and Your Next Move

  • Revival is the unbridled expression of your relationship with God!
  • The highest form of expression of your relationship with God is your immediate obedience to Him…
  • His promises are His unbridled expression of His relationship with us…

The promises of God are His prophetic Word over your life and every nuance of it!

Every word in Scripture is God speaking a word of divine knowledge and divine wisdom over your life. Just like He did over Jesus!

Obedience to His promise – not the law…

  • Revival breaks out where people are obedient to the promises of God
  • Religion breaks out where people are attempting to be obedient to the law of God…
  • Rebellion breaks out when people choose for themselves what they prefer to obey or disobey.

Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil vs. Tree of Life (Genesis 2:15-17)

Having to make the choice is stressful – it has consequences that we can not even begin to imagine – that’s why I don’t choose free will I choose Gods will because it has much better long term effect.

The world has made disobedience acceptable. It’s all about having the right to choose; they call disobedience “self expression” and “being true to yourself”.

If I want real life, my next move is seeing revival break out by being true to the promises of God. I want to honor those promises because they are the highest level of regard that God can show me!

Hebrews 11:1 – Assured expectation of things not yet beheld…

We are not obedient because we get to see the promises and the blessings. Thats just not faith – it’s seeing is believing.

We are obedient because we can not see them except through faith which is knowing the unseen promises of God are true – that’s believing is seeing.

Not a contract (mosaic law) this is a relational request from God (grace).
Eg. We don’t give to a cause (understanding choice); we give because… it honors God.

Your Move – Expect Revival Through Obedience to the Life Giving Promises of God…

Know, Expect and Obey the Promises of God…

God is one big giant promise…
He promised mankind a purpose and authority He promised Jesus in the garden of Eden
He promised healing in and through Jesus

Promises over you – Pastor Mark already used:

Psalms 139:15-16 I set up apart before you were even born…

Jeremiah 1:5-8 – I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.

God has made His move by speaking prophetic word over you. We need to make our move by living those promises out out….

Obedient to the promises?

Live our life in relation to the promises (tree of life) not our circumstances (tree of knowledge of good and evil)

Knowing and Experiencing the Promises (John 17:3)

John 17:3 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Eternal life means to know and experience you
 as the only true God,[a]

and to know and experience Jesus Christ,
as the Son whom you have sent

To Know

Knowing = an intimate belief – a divine understanding – a unity with the promises. To simply know – Matthew 5:29 women healed from bleeding says she “felt” healed same greek word – when your knowing is so real it manifests.

God knew He loved the world and it manifests… John 1:14

So intimate that it becomes a real experience.

The experience of His promises will not take place at the base of the tree of knowledge of good evil. It takes place at the foot of the tree of life (the cross).

To Experience

Experience = Embrace and Expect

Embracing them as your own. And Expecting them to manifest at any and at every moment.

Expecting the Promises

Living a life of divine expectation and expectation of the divine. Not waiting for the divine to show up.

“I am waiting for God to show up”
He has already made His move.
We live looking for any reason, any opportunity, anything we can do…

Below us beneath us, outside of our gifting, in our comfort zone, out of our comfort zone, we are constantly looking to live out one of the thousands of promises of God. We don’t wait for just the right moment that aligns with our DNA and our comfort and our spiritual gift test and our next steps DISC .

In fact we go to the places that least align because then what happens can only be divine and not human.

Obeying the Promises

Immediate obedience – immediate = a sub-conscious impulse to constantly and immediately work out that which God has promised.

Obedience = the balance of knowing and the expression of His promises.

Too much know = religion
Too much experience = no restraint (rebellion)

Balance of knowing and experiencing = obedience = revival

Faith = obedience when you can not see the expression but you know it it is coming.

Jesus did not have to think about the promises He had to fulfill – he knew them and lived his life in expectation of the moment in which He could be obedient to them. He was the complete revelation of God to man. Every gesture every word every breath was a fulfillment of prophecy and promise.

He also did not leave them to the last moment, maybe someone else will do it… He started fulfilling them the moment he slipped off the throne and landed in Mary’s womb!

He could say what he said when he was 30 because he could look back and not have to hunt to see them when he was 3 days old….

While I was yet a sinner….

Romans 5:8 The Passion Translation (TPT)
8 But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!

We don’t live out the promises of God to prove that they are good. We believe they good and true and then adjust our lives accordingly.

Faith + Expectation = Miracles = Revival = Life

Here is the impact of obedience (the balance of knowing and experiencing) the more you genuinely know the more you experience the more you come to know the more you come to experience) Continued obedience builds a faith.

The Sandwiches…

David

1 Samuel 16 – God anoints him as the next King) – Promise made.

He did not simply get to know that he was promised as King – he Got to know the promises of the one who made him King.

He did not just stand up and sign up for the grow team he got to be expectant of any moment that the promise giver would show up – killing a bear/lion.

He was not walking out as King to defeat Goliath – he was walking out under the promises of God.

1 Samuel 17:45-47 New Living Translation (NLT)

45 David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel! 47 And everyone assembled here will know that

the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord’s battle, and he will give you to us!”

It started with delivering the sandwiches. He could walk out the promises of God as a shepherd, a sandwich baron, a messenger or even as the king.

The promises of God who are not position based but obedience based….

Obedience is not a burden but an expression of the life that the promises of God gives us!

He did not forget that sandwiches – looking for any opportunity to walk out the promises of God. He did not even deliver the sandwiches to his brothers – he gave it to someone else to do “the keeper of supplies”. Then he went about being the messenger his dad had asked him to be. Then he went about stirring up the natural and preaching the supernatural (questioning why everyone was so afraid) then he went about challenging even the King and not sitting down when authority stepped in the path of the promises of God.

He delivered sandwiches like a king! He delivered a message like a king!

He did everything like a king because even though no one else knew it and no one else could see it he was a king appointed by the King of Kings.

The defeat of Goliath was not the promise. The honoring of God was the promise. And not even as a king! Unseen!

He never forgot the sandwiches!

In every moment be expectant of the promise of God. Be knowing that there is a promise of God for every moment. And be obedient no matter your task, your situation, your past, your current sin or addiction.

Your next move – is to get moving!

I know I should not cuss – so let’s start seeing that, manifest.
I know my lifestyle is off base with God – then lets see a change manifest.
I know this addiction is not what He wants from me – then get yourself addicted to Jesus
