Alexander the Great
Victors
A Victor is defined as:
- a person who has overcome or defeated an adversary.
- a winner in any struggle or contest.
Jesus was a Victor
Colossians 1:13,18(NKJV)
v.13 “He (God) has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son (Jesus) of His love.”
v.18 “And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.”(TPT)
v.13 “He has rescued us completely from the tyrannical rule (the authority) of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom realm of His beloved Son.”
v.18 “He is the Head of His Body, which is the Church. And since He is the beginning and the firstborn heir in Resurrection, He is the most exalted One, holding first place in everything.”
I Corinthians 15:57-58 (NKJV)
v.57 “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Jesus was a Victor and gave us the Victory so that we would be Victors as well.
v.58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
Overcomers
What does ‘overcome’ mean?
- To get the better of in a struggle or conflict, to defeat the enemy.
- To prevail over an opposition, a debility, a temptation.
(example – to overcome one’s weaknesses)
I John 5:3-5 (KJV)
v.3 “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous.”
v.4 “For whatsoever is born of God overcomesthe world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.”
v.5 “Who is he that overcomesthe world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
More Than Conquerors
A conqueror is defined as a person who conquerors.
Romans 8:35-39 (NKJV)
v.35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?”
v.36 “As it is written: For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
v.37 “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
“WE ARE MORE THAN” not in quantity—because there are so many of us, or in quality because we are so much better than, rather, to be “more than a conqueror” means we not only achieve victory, but we are overwhelmingly victorious.

v.38 “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come.”
- 39 “Nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.”
