Definitions:
Leadership – What is the gift of leadership? (Helping People understand)
A gift imparted by the Holy Spirit giving someone the ability to lead.
More than natural talent or skill set development this person has been given a gift to lead.
Biblical perspective – How does this gift function?
Romans 12:8 (NKJV)
“he who leads with diligence”
if a person is leading, they should lead with diligence.
Diligence is defined as “constant and earnest effort to accomplish
what is undertaken.”
I Timothy 2:2 (NKJV)
“For kings, and for all that are in authority: that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
Pastoring – What is the gift of pastoring? (Caring for People)
The gift of pastoring is operating with love, care, compassion, and concern for people specifically for the church. This is a love gift from the Holy Spirit.
Shepherding is defined as-
- A person who tends and guards
- A person who protects, guides, or watches over a person or group of people.
Biblical Perspective – How does this gift function?
Mark 6:34 (KJV)
“And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.”
1 Peter 5:2 – 3 (NKJV)
“Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly.”
v.3 “Nor as being lords (masters) over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.”
Apostleship – What is the gift of apostleship? (Sharing with People)
Definition of apostleship:
At first this Greek word described the sending of a delegation of several representatives. Later the focus shifted, to emphasize the idea that an apostle was the personal representative of the one sending him.

“Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name.”
By a deep desire to witness to someone about the “good news.”
How do you practice these gifts?
A – Ask God why He has revealed it to you?
B – Biblically – does this line up with the Word?
C – Christ-like – is this going to make me more like Jesus?
How do you know if you have it?
Do you have a desire to Help People understand?
Do you have a desire to Help People because you care? (compassion)
Do you have a desire to Share with someone that doesn’t know Jesus?
