Part 3 – “Hangry Believer”

Intro- beautiful, loving, sweet kids….until they are HANGRY

HANGRY is a real thing
Webster defines it as – “Becoming bad tempered or irritable as a result of being hungry.”

ARE WE HANGRY CHRISTIANS?
– Starving ourselves from the Word
– Irritable from the lack of “soul food”

When we are spiritually Hangry, we look for anything to fill us up but the fullness goes away.

Chinese food buffet is the best fix for instant gratification but the fullness never last

What things in our life are the “Chinese food” fixes Vegging on “fast food”

-Netflix
– Social Media – Gossip circles

Identifying these is the first step to eliminating things that waste the time that we could be feeding on the word.

WE ARE WHAT WE EAT (cinnamon roll butt)

– Fear
– Anxiety
– Stress
– Loneliness

We can’t search for a “fast food” fix to being a Hangry Believer. We have to feast on the word of God, knowing that He is the only one that can bring long lasting satisfaction.

Psalm 107: 9
For he SATISFIES the thirsty and FILLS the hungry with good things.

Three things we can do to avoid hanger
1. Snack– fill your day with word breaks. Social Media. You Version plans.
2. If you’re hungry, eat. -Doesn’t have always have to be the right time and place.
3. Make a meal plan– Accountability
“ I don’t have time”- we wont become satisfied until His word becomes more important that the excuses we create.

We have to come to a place where we aren’t trying to get full of some one else’s plate.
When someone orders something that sounds better than yours….
