THE POWER OF YES
What would it look like if even for one week every member of Victory Life Church said yes to every direction from the Holy Spirit? (Complete Surrender)
- Every nudge to pray for a fellow believer
- Financial needs would be met
- People would be invited into homes
- The hungry would be fed
- People would learn English
- Foster kids would be cared for
- Orphans adopted
- widows ministered to
- Businesses would be started
- Life Groups
- Outreaches
- Special offerings given
People would be witnessed to, the sick healed, the downcast encouraged Ministries would be birthed, Grow Teams filled,
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.” (Isaiah 61:1-3, ESV)
The ministry of Jesus would be manifest in the earth (Fruit of Yes)
What keeps us from saying yes:
Fear of Man
Fear of Failure
Fear of Rejection
Fear of Success
“Not enough time”
Temporal thinking (carnality)
Saying “no” to God keeps us locked into selfish living . . . Yes unlocks the resources of the Kingdom of God
The spirit of “I can do that.” (Lifestyle of Submission)
Simple obedience to do the possible and let God take care of the impossible.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and he is the one whom Timothy, Silas, and I have preached to you—and he has never been both a “yes” and a “no.” He has always been and always will be for us a resounding “YES!” For all of God’s promises find their “yes” of fulfillment in him. And as his “yes” and our “amen” ascend to God, we bring him glory! (2 Corinthians 1:19-20, TPT)
YES – Is the expression of agreement
His YES and our AMEN = a miracle
So be it unto me according to your word!
Say yes to His Word because His Word is Yes to us
“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5, ESV)
“For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.” (2 Corinthians 1:20, ESV)
Jesus’ life was the example of one person living in the power and freedom of YES
Leaning in and following the voice of the Holy Spirit- saying yes to His promptings God uses those willing to be used.
“Yes” requires being willing to start before we feel “ready” or “qualified”
IN A CULTURE OF MAYBE, YES SETS US APART
“For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world withsimplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you.” (2 Corinthians 1:12, ESV)
Thayer Definition:
- singleness, sincerity, mental honesty
- the virtue of one who is free from pretense and hypocrisy
“Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.” (Matthew 5:37, ESV)
“But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.” (James 5:12, ESV)
MAKE A DECISION! Progress always begins with yes!
If you want the fruit? Then say “YES”
