COMMUNION UNION

COMMUNICATION: a process by which information is exchanged between individuals

What makes communication effective is UNDERSTANDING.

The voice of God must be the loudest voice we hear.

1 John 5:14-15 (ESV) And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

UNION

COMMUNION: “koinōnia” — joint participation; intimacy; the share which one has in anything In communion, there is something SHARED between the two.

Acts 2:42 (ESV) And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
You cannot be both busy and intimate at the same time.

John 5:19 (ESV) So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.”

COMMUNICATION COMMUNION UNION

UNION: unity, “as one,” oneness

In union, Jesus is SHARING His mind and heart in order that we might have the SAME.

John 5:30 (ESV) “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.”

John 17:21 (TPT) “I pray for them all to be joined together as one even as you and I, Father, are joined together as one. I pray for them to become one with us so that the world will recognize that you sent me.”

The primary purpose of prayer is that we would be transformed.

John 15:4-5, 7-8 (ESV) “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing… If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.“
