Paradox of Hunger
Paradox = something that seems self-contradictory.
Example: Nobody goes to that restaurant; it’s too crowded.
“Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.”

Hunger: A feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food, coupled with the desire to eat.
Appetite: A strong desire or liking for something.
“”Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” (Matthew 5:6, ESV)
“Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. ” (John 6:35, ESV)

THE PARADOX OF CONTENTMENT
“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.” (Philippians 4:11, ESV)
English – Contentment = “a state of happiness and satisfaction”
Thayer’s Greek Definition of Content:
1) sufficient for one’s self, strong enough or possessing enough to need no aid or support
2) independent of external circumstances
3) contented with one’s lot, with one’s means, though the slenderest
Paul learned the secret of contentment regardless of situation.
You can be self-sufficient in God’s sufficiency independent of circumstance
THE PARADOX OF HUNGER
“”Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.” (Isaiah 55:1-2, ESV)
You can extinguish spiritual hunger by feeding carnal appetites.
“One who is full loathes honey, but to one who is hungry everything bitter is sweet.” (Proverbs 27:7, ESV)
Focus on the temporal will always be at the expense of the eternal.
